Soleus Length Assessment L/R

Ankle Professional Assessment Kit Range of Motion ankle

Setup

Same lunge test setup as Ankle DF, but with the TEST KNEE BENT. This biases the soleus by removing the gastrocnemius (which crosses the knee).

Cueing

Step 1: 'Lunge forward with your knee bent, keeping the heel flat.' The key difference from the standard lunge DF test is that the knee is intentionally more flexed. Step 2: Measure wall distance as before.

Measurement

Cm from big toe to wall with knee bent. Compare with the standard lunge test (knee over toes): if standard DF is restricted but soleus is normal, the restriction is in the gastrocnemius. Normal: slightly less than gastroc test.

Normal Range 15.0-25.0°
Output Type degrees

Modality

Supported: Remote / Active
