Cueing

Step 1: 'Raise your arm straight in front and overhead, thumb up, keeping your back flat against the wall.' Step 2: Note the moment low back lifts off the wall (compensation). True shoulder flexion ends when lumbar extension begins. Step 3: Repeat other arm. Pressure: 0/10.

Measurement

Angle between the arm and the trunk at the point where the lower back first lifts off the wall. Full = 180 degrees. Record L/R separately.
