Pelvic Tilt Classification
Setup
Client standing, side view. Shirt lifted to expose waistline. Camera positioned laterally at pelvis height.
Cueing
Step 1: Palpate ASIS and PSIS on one side. Step 2: The line from ASIS to PSIS should be approximately horizontal (ASIS level with or slightly below PSIS by 1-2 finger widths). Step 3: Classify: Anterior tilt (ASIS significantly lower than PSIS), Posterior tilt (ASIS higher than PSIS), Neutral. Step 4: Repeat observation from the other side.
Measurement
Pattern: anterior-tilt / posterior-tilt / neutral. For more precision, measure the angle of the ASIS-PSIS line relative to horizontal with an inclinometer. Normal: 10-15 degrees anterior tilt.
