Cueing

Step 1: 'Keeping your thighs together and still, swing your LEFT foot OUTWARD (away from your right leg).' This produces internal rotation of the hip. Step 2: Hold 2 s at end range. Step 3: Return to start. Step 4: Repeat RIGHT. Compensation: pelvis tilting (lifts off table on one side), trunk lean, knee extension. Pressure: 0/10.

Measurement

Goniometer: axis at the center of the patella, stationary arm vertical, moving arm along the tibial shaft. The angle of tibial deviation from vertical = hip IR. Normal: 30-45 deg. Record L/R.
