Grounding Performance Assessment
Setup
Client standing barefoot, natural stance. Camera full-body frontal and lateral views. This is a compound observational test integrating foot, ankle, knee, hip, and trunk.
Cueing
Step 1: 'Stand naturally. Relax.' Observe for 30 seconds: weight distribution (favor one side?), foot tripod quality, knee position (hyperextension, valgus), hip height symmetry, trunk alignment. Step 2: 'Shift your weight to the LEFT foot only.' Observe stability. Step 3: Same RIGHT. Step 4: 'Close your eyes and stand naturally.' 15 seconds. Observe postural sway. Scoring: 10 = symmetrical, stable, excellent tripod, no sway. 1 = significant asymmetry, poor ground contact, excessive sway.
Measurement
Scale 1-10 overall. Also record sub-scores: foot contact (1-10), weight symmetry (1-10), closed-eye stability (1-10).
