Setup

Client standing barefoot. Camera positioned anteriorly at pelvis height. Client performs single leg stance on each side.

Cueing

Step 1: Instruct 'Stand on your LEFT leg for 10 seconds.' Observe if the pelvis drops on the unsupported side (Trendelenburg) or if the client compensates with a hip hike on the stance side. Step 2: Repeat on the RIGHT leg. Step 3: Note the shoulder position -- does the stance-side shoulder stay down regardless of which leg you stand on? This indicates rib cage compression via frontal plane.

Measurement

Pattern select: hip-hike-left-greater / hip-hike-right-greater / bilateral-hike / no-hike-bilateral. Note: hip hike indicates decreased access to hip IR on the stance side. Shoulder position asymmetry (one shoulder stays down regardless) indicates frontal plane rib cage compression. Correlate with single leg squat and body lateralization findings.
